S&B Transport Services is a successful and high performing family run company based in the South West on the Mendip Hills, with a reputation built up over 10 years. We operate a range of vehicles that offer a variety of services across the UK…
We use 8 wheeled steel bodied tippers offering bespoke haulage anywhere in the UK.
We use artic walking floors, which carry anything from biomass fuel, recycled tin cans and even old PVC window frames.
We use artics on dedicated long term traction work for our parent company Willmotts.
As a company we work 24/7 with experienced drivers that run both nights and weekends to ensure that we meet our customers’ needs. As a company we pride ourselves in being no expenses spared by using well managed transport software for easy account management from order, all the way to invoice. We also use fleet tracking to enable complete vehicle visibility without disturbing our drivers.

OUR HISTORY
With what started as ‘Chris Baker Haulage’ in 2001 with the purchase of their first ever vehicle, the company continued to work, grow and purchase newer trucks and vehicles until 2009.
In the summer of 2009, Chris Baker and Andy Stott started discussing joining forces until in September of the year, they decided to do business and move the company forward collaboratively as S&B Aggregates ltd, who specialised in hauling aggregates.
The company started with 1 tipper and expanded quickly to 2 tippers when a gap was identified within the market. With there being a large number of quarries in vicinity to the yard, of which S&B Aggregates Ltd worked out of 7, it was a no brainer to focus on tipping work.
From just having the two tippers in 2009, the company grew till it had a total of 12 tippers in 2019, working both night and day. While the continued growth of the company was seemingly straightforward, the company hit a block in 2019. With the world's introduction to COVID-19 the company was forced into turning a corner. Quarries and many other sites shut down, the use of tippers hence became limited and work became few and hard to find.
Moving forward the company had to explore other avenues. Consequently S&B sold a few tippers and instead bought some tractor units for traction work on behalf of Willmotts Transport.
Renaming themselves to S&B Transport Services, the company explored varied work other than aggregates. From this point onwards the company continued to grow steadily into 2021 where they again increased the traction fleet.
In February of 2021, the sharp growth seen from exploring new avenues saw the company become a part of Stotts Group which allowed the company to grow further using the resources of the group to where we are today.
Now in the present day with a varied fleet of 21, the company is venturing into biomass and green energy. With the gas, fuel and electric crisis upon us, alternative fuels are needing to be used moving forward throughout the UK. S&B Transport Services are focusing on moving things such old carpet or wood chips to be incinerated and even bringing PVC window frames to be recycled.
Looking forward into the future the company has invested in 6 new walking floor trailers and is investing heavily into upskilling young drivers. We aim to bring new drivers on, start them in vehicles like tippers and train them into being able to drive class one artics to aid in combating the UK driver shortage.
